Joel discovered CrossFit, believed in it immediately, and knew right away he wanted to share it with others — and nine years later, his passion for coaching is higher than ever. He has seen the methodology change countless lives, starting with his own. Joel is the kind of coach who studies, takes notes, and stays endlessly coachable, and that depth of craft shows up in every cue he gives.
There's nothing he loves more than watching an athlete do something they never thought was possible. The cue, the attempt, the win, the look on their face, the high fives — that's why he does it.
Coaching style: Passionate. Attentive. Encouraging.
Philosophy: Mechanics → Consistency → Intensity. Prioritize proper movement, repeat it consistently, then and only then add intensity.
Favorite workout: Holleyman — 30 rounds of wall-balls, handstand push-ups, and power cleans. It's a grind.
Outside the gym: Family time, hiking, reading, board games, and Stranger Things
